Parent Action Leaders at GRPS
Each GRPS school has a PAL, or Parent Action Leader, who acts as the link between the Family and Community Engagement office and the caregiver network at their child’s school. PALs support family engagement by working closely with their school’s principal, attending school meetings, communicating closely with their schools’ families, and more.
As a GRPS parent or caregiver (or potential GRPS family!), you are able to reach out to your school’s PAL for all sorts of awesome things. They can help you learn more about what it might be like to attend that school, connect you with the parent network in the building, introduce you to the principal, and more! Does this sound like a role YOU might want to take on? We have openings for PALs at many GRPS schools – if your child attends one, please consider applying for the role by following this link and submitting your information. As compensation for all they do for us, PALs receive a stipend and the pride that comes with knowing that they’ve made a true impact on their students’ educational achievement!

Acting as your student’s Parent Action Leader (PAL) is a great way to get involved! PALs serve as liaisons between families, schools and the District. A PAL’s job is to serve the school and parents. They work closely with the Family and Community Engagement Office and earn a stipend for their hard work! Pictured here is the Cervantes family of Buchanan Elementary. Vanessa is a proud GRPS mother and acts alongside Julie De Leon Aguilar as one of the PALs at Buchanan!
If you have a student at any of the following schools and are interested in being your school’s PAL, please contact your principal, then send a message to josephk@grps.org to request additional information. You can also find more information by following this link.
