As parents, YOU are the most important person to promote good attendance. Like parents before you, you have the day-to-day responsibility to make sure your children get to school, on time, every day.
Of course, it’s a lot easier with a strong TEAM.
Time is part of attendance: set a routine to get to school on time, because being late counts as a partial absence. Make the routine calm and steady, not harsh and uneven.
Everyone pitches in: prep clothes and backpack the night before. Make it a fun activity, not a nasty task.
Ask for help: if you have a family situation that keeps you child from school, contact your KSSN coordinator or school principal.
Monitor progress: Keep track of attendance at home, perhaps on a chart in the kitchen, and celebrate every five-day week with high-fives on Friday.
